Cat Lai or Cai Mep?

Most Ho Chi Minh City exports leave from one of two terminals. Cat Lai sits on the Saigon River close to the city and the industrial parks in Binh Duong and Dong Nai. Cai Mep–Thi Vai, about 80 km southeast, is a deep-water port where large ships load for direct sailings to the U.S. West Coast.

You don’t have to pick. When we quote, we check sailings from both and recommend the one with the better combination of schedule, rate and trucking distance from your factory.

Common Questions

How long does it take?

About 22–24 days port to port, plus pickup, customs and delivery. Door to door is usually 4–5 weeks.

Los Angeles or Long Beach?

They serve the same region; we book whichever has the best schedule and rate.

What documents do I need?

Commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading; we walk you through it.

How much does a 40′ container cost right now?

Published 40′ high cube rates ran about USD 8,250–9,800 in late September and October 2026. See the Shipping Cost Guide, then ask for today’s rate.

Should I ship FCL or LCL?

If you fill more than about half a container, a full container is usually cheaper per unit. Smaller loads can share a container (LCL); we quote both when it’s close.

When should I book?

Book 3–4 weeks before your cargo is ready, and earlier before peak season and Lunar New Year.
